Paul Ryan’s “Conservatism”

Posted in Politics2 years ago • Written by Defender Of LibertyNo Comments

Speaker Paul Ryan claims he is a conservative, and his critics are misinformed because they don’t understand the rules that govern legislation. In an interview with Bill Bennett (video below), Ryan claims he could not do anything to prevent or even amend any piece of the recently passed $1.1 trillion Cromnibus funding bill because of procedural rules. Ryan does claim that things will be different going forward because he didn’t approve of the bill, and he will make sure the rules change before the next budget bill comes up for a vote. If he didn’t approve of the bill, why did he vote for it?

Ryan voted for the $1.1 trillion Cromnibus funding bill because he has always voted for progressive legislation that increases the deficit, debt, power of government, and taxes. The following is a list of 2015 legislation and Ryan’s votes:

  • $1.1 trillion Omnibus funding bill – Yes
  • Raise debt by $1.5 trillion – Yes
  • Fund Planned Parenthood – Yes
  • Obama – Fast Track Authority for TPP – Yes
  • $500 billion health care bill – Yes
  • Stop funding for Obama’s amnesty for illegal immigrants – No
Ryan’s voting record from year-to-year is consistent. The following is a brief list of 2013 and 2014 legislation and Ryan’s votes:

  • Reaffirm the Fourth Amendment – No
  • Permanent Farm Bill – Yes
  • $1.1 trillion Omnibus funding bill – Yes
  • Extend Export-Import Bank – Yes
  • Omnibus spending bill – Yes
Ryan has proven to be a loyal comrade to Democrats. He has supported every progressive bill the Democrats and his fellow RINOs bring up for a vote. Ryan’s “liberty score” on conservativereview.com is an F, as in failed/failure.
A lot of people are of the opinion that Republicans like Ryan, Boehner, McCain and McConnell surrender to Democrats because they don’t want to fight, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Republican establishment is just as progressive as Obama and the Democrats, so they are doing what they have always done by voting for progressive policies that harm America and the American people. There is no such thing as surrendering to your allies. Aside from a small number of conservatives in the House and Senate, the two political parties in Washington, D.C. are two wings on the same bird of prey.

A frustrated conservative who is very concerned that America has entered its twilight years. Dan has a B.A. in political philosophy and an MBA with a concentration in finance. He has an honorable discharge from the United States Navy after serving for several years after graduating from high school. Please share this with liberals and RINOs because there is nothing better than upsetting them. The U.S. is no longer a constitutional republic, but rather an oligarchy. We live in a post constitutional America where competing tribes sell their votes for the promise of freebies. America is on the cusp of being lost to Marxists and their army of bureaucrats unless the American people move outside of their comfort zone and get involved the same way Marxists have gotten involved by infiltrating the political, educational, and bureaucratic systems.
