California’s AB 775 is Government Tyranny
The State of California recently passed legislation that requires pregnancy care centers to announce that they are not medical facilities that perform abortions and requires the centers to post signs that provide detailed information on where women can go to have an abortion. Why? The cultural Marxists cannot stand the thought that any woman might seek an alternative to aborting her baby. Why would the cultural Marxists who own and operate California allow anybody to rain on their sexual revolution replete with abortions, abortifacients, free contraception, promiscuity, no-fault divorce, adultery, sodomy, sex change operations (I think the PC term is gender reassignment), and sexually transmitted diseases?
When you read California’s AB 775
, you see Marxist propaganda on full display. The bill contains the usual verbiage, you know, the language about abortions being necessary to save the life of the mother, and how abortions are necessary for health reasons. We should address the fallacy regarding the Democrats’ propaganda about abortions being performed to save a mother’s life. Of course, Democrats never use the word “mother” because it establishes a connection between the woman and the health issue growing inside her.
Abortions are never performed to save the life of a mother. Problems with a pregnancy never result in a mother jumping into her vehicle and driving to the nearest abortion “clinic” to abort her baby. Even when a mother suffers from some ailment exclusive from her pregnancy, or suffers from some life-threatening disease, she does not have an abortion.
The former U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. C. Everett Koop, stated publicly that “in his thirty-eight years as a pediatric surgeon, he was never aware of a single situation in which a freeborn child’s life had to be taken to save the life of the mother.” He referred to the argument that abortions are sometimes necessary to save the life of the mother as a “smoke screen.” Alan Guttmacher, a “physician” working for Planned Parenthood, acknowledged that it is very, very rare for a pregnancy to be terminated to save the life of the mother.
Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and, if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save, life.
Abortion is not a women’s health issue despite what Democrats tell you. Any attempt to categorize pregnancy like it is just another medical condition is absurd. The narrative Democrats push is that pregnancy is like any chronic, life-changing illness, and just like any illness, it must be cured. It is nonsense to suggest that pregnancy is a medical condition like diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, pulmonary disease, or some annoying ailment such as an ingrown hair. What Democrats assert is that an unborn baby is the same as a chronic medical condition or ailment, so “medical care” must be readily available to any woman inflicted with pregnancy.
AB 775 is the first step by the State of California to try to stop local efforts to provide young, pregnant girls with information that will allow them to choose an alternative to abortion, i.e., keeping the baby, or putting the baby up for adoption. Cultural Marxists in California understand that the real threat to stopping the murder of innocent, unborn babies comes, not from a large organization like Right to Life, but from local efforts that are harder to locate and control. Lobbying corrupt, cowardly politicians has proven useless in banning abortion, but local efforts can be successful at saving lives because the people at the local level take their message directly to young, pregnant girls who are lost, confused, and need help.
