Obama Administration Confirms it’s Business as Usual on Southern Border
The crisis on America’s southern border continues with the approval of the Obama administration. The number of people flooding across the border leads one to think that America is either not a nation or a lawless nation. The number of unaccompanied minors, family members, and individuals apprehended on the southern border has exploded during Obama’s reign. The Obama administration via a press release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that it’s business as usual on the southern border.
The DHS has confirmed what every sentient American knows, that the surge in illegal immigration is getting worse. The Border Patrol has apprehended, and the Obama administration released, 1,633,971 illegal immigrants into the interior of the United States. A more sobering number than the 1.64 million apprehensions is the number of illegal immigrants that were not apprehended. Earlier this year, Brandon Judd, the President of the National Border Patrol Council, testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest that “for every one illegal alien apprehended, another evades detection,” which means from FY13 through FY16 3,267.942 illegal immigrants set up residence in America.
DHS numbers for unaccompanied minors, family members (chain migration), and individuals apprehended on the southern border in the past four fiscal years:
FY13 – 414,397
FY14 – 479,371
FY15 – 331,333
FY16 – 408,870
The border surge is real, and it begs for a solution much different than the Obama administration’s entrance and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
America is a debtor nation that owes $20 trillion to its creditors, so how can it absorb and sustain millions of illegal immigrants? The border crisis adds to the debt crisis and ipso facto leads to financial ruin.
The Obama administration’s open-border policies have made America less secure and created an ever-growing financial burden on taxpayers. The Obama administration’s decision to shirk its constitutional responsibility to secure America’s borders has produced an untenable situation that will transform America into a third world country.
